On Christmas Eve, decades ago, an active-duty officer of the Uniformed Division of U.S. Secret Service placed the official ornament of The White House Gift Shop on the White House Blue Room Christmas Tree. Now, three-quarters of a century later, The White House Gift Shop annual ornaments are collected, gifted, traded, and prized globally. Our earliest ornament was made in 1946 under the administration of President Truman. Ornament years available now include 1991 - 2016 with the lost years based on recollections of Secret Service Uniformed Division retired officers and White House photographs from 1946 - 1990 in limited edition restoration for 2017 which will make The White House Gift Shop, Est. 1946 official collection continuous for 70+ years and the largest collection of its kind in White House history! In 2017, we will create and issue a second commemorative of the President Obama series within the collection as well as a special edition commemorative honoring the Administration of President Bill Clinton.
