Queen Elizabeth II: A Legacy of Service
Queen Elizabeth II, born on April 21, 1926, in London, was the longest-reigning monarch in British history, ruling from 1952 until her death in 2022. Her reign of 70 years and 214 days saw significant global change and modernization within the monarchy. Elizabeth ascended to the throne at the age of 25 after the death of her father, King George VI. Throughout her reign, she became known for her steadfast dedication to her role, maintaining a neutral stance while fostering close relationships with numerous Prime Ministers, starting with Winston Churchill. Her public service extended beyond the UK as she acted as Head of the Commonwealth, visiting all member countries and participating in state affairs until her last days.
King Charles III: The Prince Who Became King
Born on November 14, 1948, Charles Philip Arthur George was the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. He became the Prince of Wales in 1958 and took on various official duties and charitable work, particularly through the Prince's Trust, which he founded in 1976 to support disadvantaged youth. Charles' long wait for the throne ended with the death of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022, making him King Charles III. Known for his environmental activism and dedication to heritage conservation, King Charles III aims to continue his mother's legacy while addressing contemporary issues such as climate change and urban development.

1. Do You Know the English Origins of Valentine's Day?
2. Who Wrote One of the First Significant Valentines Day Poems?
"For this was on St. Valentine's Day, when every bird cometh thereto choose his mate."
Answers
Chaucer is the poet who wrote one of the first and only existing poem linking love and passion to Valentine's Day. He wrote:
"For this was on St. Valentine's Day, when every bird cometh there to choose his mate."
He wrote his poem "Parlement of Foules" in 699 verses using iambic pentameter as his meter to connect Valentine's Day with love, passion, and romance.
The association of romance with Valentine's Day deepened over time within British culture. William Shakespeare wrote about both Saint Valentine's Day and love in his play, Hamlet (circa 1600-1601) with the phrase
"to be your Valentine"
