Sales of this 5,000 issue Helsinki commemorative are nearly crashing our servers at the gift shop because of high global perceived collection value consequent of the translations. My Russian language ability harkens to the Reagan and Gorbachev era, and I am solely responsible for the translation. I apologize for the awkwardness of the translation and am solely responsible. Americans want peace with Russia. I designed this coin to honor the leaders of America and Russia for their courage in demonstrating that even during moments of difference the process of peace is an ongoing and vital dialogue for our great nations.

As with U.S. Minted coins, I consulted with our supporters and customers, globally: To the person because of collection value—they have requested that The White House Gift Shop "not" reissue the coin but keep the original issue given that the global coverage has enormously increased rather than decreased the inherent historical collectibility, perceived collection value of the coin, much like a slight error on a United States Mint coin--increasing its value.

Curiously, thus, the coin is becoming part of history "because" of the slightly awkward translation. Despite the slightly awkward translation in one element of the coin, given the global sponsorship for this coin, it is likely to be a permanet and unique chronicle of a rare moment in world Presidential history.
